The Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System today named Robert Hebert President Emeritus of McNeese State University. Hebert retired in June after serving 41 years at McNeese and 23 of them as president, making him the university's longest-serving president.

Starting at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System will interview two finalists for the position of President of McNeese State University. Following public interviews of Philip Williams then Jeanne Daboval, it is expected the Board will select the university's sixth president. A third finalist, Linda Rinker, withdrew her candidacy Monday afternoon.
The McNeese State University Presidential Search Committee selected three finalists today after spending the week on campus conducting interviews and receiving input from the campus and community. The finalists will interview with the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors in Baton Rouge on Friday, April 23, after which a final decision will be made.
