Mental Health Expert - Dr. Kevin Yaudes

 

Dr. Kevin Yaudes has a master’s in Counseling Psychology and doctorate in Cognitive Science. He teaches psychology at the undergraduate level and counseling at the graduate level at McNeese State University. He is responsible for the Kay Doré Counseling Clinic (KDCC) at McNeese which is a community counseling clinic. The clinic provides counseling services to individuals in Southwest Louisiana (SWLA) and serves as a placement site for students in the counseling program at McNeese.

 

 

Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention

A 45–60-minute presentation that covers the scope of this leading cause of death, what the research has found to be the warning signs and risk factors of suicide, and the strategies that prevent it.

A 2.5-hour training to provide interested volunteers with the information and skills needed to successfully present Talk Saves Lives in their communities.

Introduction to Supporting Those At Risk

A 60-minute presentation that provides information and resources on how to support someone in your life with lived experience. Lived experience is defined as a suicide attempt and/or experiences with suicidal thoughts.
