The Universities of Louisiana Champions of Diversity and Inclusion Award recognizes an individual who exhibits excellence in living and promoting behaviors that demonstrate diversity, inclusion and cultural competence at an institution within the University of Louisiana System. This award honors an open thinker and embracer of differences who promotes equal opportunities in race, religion, culture, sexual identification and expression, thought processes, etc. This person brings awareness to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community.
The Champion of Diversity/Inclusion Award will be presented at the Universities of Louisiana For Our Future Conference on March 11. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, Dec. 1.
1. A nominee seeks to learn about the importance of diversity and inclusion.
2. A nominee promotes and develops activities ad dialogue that highlight unity and strength in diversity.
3. A nominee supports activities that encourage others to get involved in diversity efforts intra-departmentally and throughout the institution.
4. A nominee demonstrates commitment to the principles of diversity through participation in activities that promote inclusion and respect and respect for diverse racial, cultural and ethnic differences.
