CONSULTANTS TO CONDUCT INSTITUTIONAL REVIEW OF SOUTHEASTERN HAMMOND – A national consulting firm will be on Southeastern Louisiana University’s campus Sept. 17 – 19 to conduct a comprehensive institutional review of the university.
As part of their visit, representatives of Keeling & Associates of New York will hold an open forum on Friday (Sept. 19) from 1 – 3 p.m. to solicit public comments on the university. The forum will be held at the Southeastern Alumni Center, 500 West University Ave.
The review is designed to assist the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors in assessing the overall status of the university. The board is preparing to conduct a national search to fill the position of president, said Hunter Alessi, who is coordinating the team’s visit.
As a practice, the University of Louisiana System conducts an institutional review whenever there is a change in the presidency at one of the system universities. The review provides an in-depth analysis of the status of the institution and a series of recommendations that provide a roadmap for initiatives and potential change for an incoming president.
Keeling & Associates is a comprehensive higher education consulting firm that provides a wide range of services for colleges, universities and professional organizations in higher education. The firm has been in operation for more than 20 years.
Former Southeastern President Randy Moffett has been appointed to head the University of Louisiana System, the governing body of eight regional four-year institutions, including Southeastern. Former Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs John Crain is serving as interim president.
