The Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System (www.ulsystem.net) invites applications and nominations for the position of Executive Director of Capital Projects.

The University of Louisiana System is one of the nation’s twenty largest public systems of higher education, which oversees the operations of eight universities located throughout the state and serves approximately 80,000 students.

The Executive Director of Capital Projects serves as a member of the Facilities staff and supports the Assistant Vice President for Facilities and Capital Improvement with many duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to the following:

Support in the review of campus submittals for consideration by the ULS Board of Supervisors relative to land and facilities acquisitions, sales, construction and/or renovations.

Assist in the evaluation of project costs and in developing project budgets where necessary.

Review and prepare relative contracts, leases, plans and specifications where appropriate and relative to system construction and planning of facilities.

Evaluate, analyze, and report to System President, Board and VP for Business and Finance data related to the planning and development of alternatively financed projects.

Establish and maintain contact with organizations, government agencies and educational institutions in order to develop networks to advance the System’s facilities goals.

Participate in state, regional and national professional organizations as deemed appropriate.

Assist in the development and revision of System Policy and Procedure Memoranda relative to Facilities.

Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein as assigned by the VP for Business and Finance.

Qualifications/Skills:

Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field of study; Master’s Degree preferred.

Minimum of five years of progressively responsible construction management, engineering, facilities planning or architecture experience, including project cost/control, planning, plan review and project oversight.

Experience in publicly funded projects, State of Louisiana preferred.

Experience with Alternatively Financed Projects (Third Party) desired.

Personable, cooperative, flexible and a team player.
