BATON ROUGE – Governor Bobby Jindal appointed Shreveport businessman Paul Dickson to the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System. Dickson will represent District 4 during his nine-month term.

Owner of pharmaceutical distributor Morris & Dickson Co., LLC, Dickson founded the Red River National Wildlife Refuge and the Louisiana Bird Resource Center. He is also an Associate of the LSU Museum of Natural Sciences.

Active in his community, Dickson has spent the last 20 years volunteering at schools and coaching sports for his four sons.

He holds a degree in business administration from Colorado College and has participated in business programs at Harvard University, Stanford University, Wharton Business School, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

“I look forward to working for the continuous improvement of the UL System and to helping solve the challenges faced by the Board of Supervisors,” said Dickson. “Most of all, I am honored to be asked to serve.”

Board Chair Elsie Burkhalter appointed Dickson to serve on the Audit, Facilities Planning, and Finance committees.

“Mr. Dickson’s extensive business background will be a welcome addition to these committees and the Board as a whole,” said Burkhalter. “I have spoken with him personally and know he is committed to improving higher education in Louisiana.”

Dickson will be officially sworn-in at the ULS Board Meeting next week.
