The process will be modeled after the successful University of Louisiana at Monroe presidential search of 2001, which was praised for its openness, said Dr. Sally Clausen, chair of the search committee and UL System President.

Members of the search committee include, Dr. Sally Clausen, chair; ULS Board members Marty Chabert, Jessica Clarke (ULS student member), Andre Coudrain, Bob Davidge, Gordon Pugh (ULS Chair), Carl Shetler, Winfred Sibille, Eunice Smith; Timothy Lindsley, a Nicholls faculty member selected by the Nicholls faculty senate; and three representatives from the community – Board of Elementary and Secondary Education member Glenny Lee Buquet, Former ULS Board Member Al Lippman and Nicholls alumnus William Riviere — to participate as non-voting but active members of the process. Donald “Boysie” Bollinger, who was recently appointed to the ULS Board by Governor Mike Foster, will serve on the committee, although he will not be a voting member until after his appointment is confirmed by the ULS Board in December.

Nicholls President Donald Ayo announced his resignation in October but plans to carry out his duties until June 30, 2003.
