ULM President-Elect Nick Bruno to Start Nov. 8
BATON ROUGE – University of Louisiana at Monroe President-Elect Nick J. Bruno will officially begin his duties on Nov. 8, 2010. While Bruno’s official start date at ULM has been set, details of his appointment will not be finalized until early next week.
“I am looking forward to rejoining the ULM family and working together to move the campus forward. Numerous people have already reached out to me, and I am eager to get started,” said Bruno.
“Dr. Bruno has been a valuable asset to the University of Louisiana System, and I wish him much success at ULM,” said UL System President Randy Moffett.
UL System Director of Internal and External Audit Albert J. “Robbie” Robinson, Jr. will take over Bruno’s duties as the UL System’s Vice President for Business and Finance.
“Robbie has an exceptional background in audit and finance both at the state level and in our system that will provide us continuity and stability. He has worked closely with Dr. Bruno and our campuses for several years, and I believe this is a good fit for our system,” said Moffett.
Robinson became the system director of internal and external audit in 2006 after spending almost 30 years at the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s office where he held the second highest position as First Assistant Legislative Auditor. A certified public accountant, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Louisiana State University.
Robinson’s appointment is pending approval by the UL System Board of Supervisors that next meets on Dec. 3.
The largest system in the state with over 82,500 students at eight universities, the UL System has the smallest staff. With Bruno’s departure the system office will only have 15 employees.
