UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA MONROE PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH COMMITTEE CONVENES FOR INAUGURAL MEETING

MONROE, La. – The University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM) Presidential Search Committee held its inaugural meeting today, March 11, 2025, at the University Library’s 7th Floor Terrace. Convened by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, the committee is tasked with leading the national search for ULM’s next president.

The meeting began with a welcome and invocation, followed by roll call and introductions. Committee members received their official charge, emphasizing the importance of selecting a visionary leader to guide ULM into the future. The discussion then focused on outlining the search process and establishing a tentative timeline to ensure a thorough and transparent selection.

The committee also reviewed the proposed advertisement strategy to attract a diverse and highly qualified pool of candidates. A public hearing was held, allowing stakeholders to share their insights and expectations for ULM’s next president.

“The selection of a university president is one of the most critical responsibilities of our Board, and we are committed to conducting a thorough, transparent, and inclusive search process,” said UL System President Rick Gallot. “ULM is a vital institution in our System, and we are dedicated to finding a leader who will build on its strengths and guide it into a promising future.”

As the search progresses, additional meetings and public forums will be scheduled to ensure continued transparency and community involvement. Updates and announcements will be available through the University of Louisiana System’s website.
