In 2018, the UL System established the Reginald F. Lewis Educational Equity Initiative to house its strategic interventions to recruit, retain, and graduate students prepared for life and career success at unprecedented scale. The Reginald F. Lewis Scholars Program is designed to enhance the collegiate experience of black males at the Universities of Louisiana. Specifically, the Reginald F. Lewis Scholars Program will recruit black male students and provide educational programs, mentoring opportunities, and co-curricular experiences to enhance their collegiate experience.
