UL SYSTEM BOARD OFFICERS SWORN IN

The University of Louisiana System’s new slate of officers including Board Chair Jimmie “Beau” Martin Jr., Vice Chair Edward Crawford and Parliamentarian Kelly Faircloth took the oath of office to serve the Board for the next year.  

“I am honored that the Board has entrusted me with the chairmanship,” Martin said. “I expect 2016 to be a busy and challenging year for higher education in Louisiana and I am excited to be a part.”

Board members elected new officers at the December meeting.

 

UPDATE: UNO PRESIDENT SEARCH

The UNO Presidential Search Committee will meet in Baton Rouge Jan. 28. The search firm, Witt/Kieffer, will recommend candidates to be considered for the position.

The committee will select semifinalists to be interviewed on the UNO campus in February. The Board hopes to conduct a Special Board meeting in conjunction with its Feb. 23 Regular Board meeting to select UNO’s next president.


UPDATE: UL SYSTEM PRESIDENT SEARCH

The UL System Board approved a motion to engage a search firm to begin the process of identifying a pool of candidates to consider for the System president vacancy.

“This is the first time I am here and you’re already moving to replace me,” Interim President Dan Reneau said lightheartedly. “I appreciate your confidence.”

Dr. Dan Reneau served as Louisiana Tech’s president for 26 years before retiring in 2013.
