COMPETE LA AND LOUISIANA HEALTHCARE CONNECTIONS PARTNER TO ASSIST EMPLOYEES IN FINISHING DEGREES

Louisiana Healthcare Connections is partnering with Compete LA to increase degree completion among its employees. Compete LA is the Universities of Louisiana’s answer for the 653,000 Louisiana adults who started college but did not finish their degrees.

“The college degree has long been the standard credential for social mobility and increased employability. It’s clear Louisiana Healthcare Connections realizes the benefits of having a more educated workforce,” UL System President and CEO Jim Henderson said. “One of the biggest benefits of the Compete LA corporate partnership is increased retention for employers and more visibility for Compete LA and all it offers—a dedicated coach to evaluate existing credits and walk with students through re-enrollment, more than 65 fully online degree programs, and discounted tuition.”

Louisiana Healthcare Connections encourages its workforce to further their professional development through education and provides benefits for employees wishing to return to school. Full-time employees are eligible for up to $5,000 annual tuition reimbursement.

“There is no better asset than a college degree,” said President and CEO of Louisiana Healthcare Connections Jamie Schlottman.” Here at Louisiana Healthcare Connections, we are passionate about our team members getting every opportunity to grow professionally and advance their career. Highlighting our educational benefits through a partnership with Compete LA was a great opportunity we couldn’t pass up.”

Employees who want to know more about the partnership can visit competela.org/lahealthconnect. Compete LA is open to Louisiana residents with some college credit but no degree.
