MEDIA ADVISORY: Interviews for Grambling President to be Held on Campus Next Week – Mar 11, 2004

Committee Encourages Public to Attend

 

GRAMBLING, La. – The Grambling State University community will become better acquainted with the candidates for the Grambling presidency when the eight contenders sit for public interviews next week.

The interviews will take place in Grambling’s Favrot Student Union Black and Gold Room on Monday and Tuesday. Candidates are also scheduled to meet with community leaders, faculty and students.

The interview schedule is as follows:

MONDAY, MARCH 15, 2004
10 a.m. – A. Toy Caldwell-Colbert, Ph.D.
11:15 a.m. – William H. Harris, Ph.D.
12:15 p.m. – BREAK
1:30 p.m. – Melvin N. Johnson, D.B.A.
2:45 p.m. – Rodney D. Smith, Ed.D.

TUESDAY, MARCH 16, 2004
9 a.m. – William Pollard, Ph.D.
10:15 a.m. – Anne W. Watts, Ph.D.
11:15 a.m. – BREAK
12:30 p.m. – Horace Judson, Ph.D.
1:45 p.m. – David Wilson, Ed.D.

Each interview will last about one hour. The public will have an opportunity to submit questions to the committee. The Search Committee will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday prior to the interviews in Union Room 242.

The eight candidates were part of a pool of 49 leaders of higher education and business who applied for the Grambling presidency in response to a national search.

The search committee expects to conduct final interviews March 25 in Baton Rouge, and the Board of Supervisors for the UL System could name a new president on March 26 at its regular meeting.
