New University of Louisiana at Lafaytte President May Be Selected Thursday – Dec 3, 2007

BATON ROUGE- The Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System will hold a special meeting this Thursday to consider the three candidates recommended by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Presidential Search Committee.

The Presidential Search Committee voted on Nov. 26 to recommend Steve Landry, E. Joseph Savoie, and Clifford Stanley to the University of Louisiana System Board. Candidate public interviews are scheduled as follows:
1:45 – 2:45 p.m. Dr. Clifford Stanley
3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Dr. Steve Landry
4:15 – 5:15 p.m. Dr. E. Joseph Savoie

The UL System Board launched a national search after President Ray Authement announced April 17 his plans to retire. The search committee held public hearings in Lafayette on June 14 and Setp. 12. On Oct. 3, the committee selected five candidates to interview out of 38 applicants. Public interviews were conducted on the Lafayette campus on Nov. 12 and 13.
