UL SYSTEM PUBLISHES NEW DATA DASHBOARD
University of Louisiana System Vice President for Inclusion, Diversity, and Effectiveness Claire Norris presented the System’s newly released online data dashboard to the Board of Supervisors.
The data visualization tool seeks to provide clarity and increased transparency to the Board and internal and external stakeholders.
“The Universities of Louisiana are committed to being a national model for transparency,” UL System President and CEO Dr. Jim Henderson said. “The measures we highlight on the data dashboard tell a compelling story of the work of our System and the state of Louisiana.”
Data categories include Access, Success, Faculty & Staff, Budget & Financials, Peer Comparisons, and Data Governance. The Governance section highlights the data leaders at the nine member institutions responsible for collecting, providing, and managing the data for display at the System level as well as relevant definitions to aid in data comprehension.
UL SYSTEM MEMBER INSTITUTIONS SUPPORT MCNEESE
Just two weeks after Hurricane Laura hit McNeese State University and Lake Charles directly, Hurricane Delta’s nearly identical path multiplied the community’s needs. Campus sustained significant damage forcing online learning for the remainder of the semester.
The McNeese Foundation Hurricane Relief Fund was established to direct resources to the areas where aid is needed most.
Systemwide displays of support continue to aid in the relief efforts. Member institutions organized many supply drives, and the UL System Student Advisory Council, made up of the SGA presidents from each university, is hosting a day of service next month.
All nine UL System member institutions are engaged with the Cowboy Relief Effort allowing displaced McNeese students to access resources on their campuses including libraries, computer labs, and health services. So far, 250 students have requested access to sister institutions.
ICYMI: COMPETE LA IN FORBES
Compete LA, the System’s program to re-engage Louisiana adults with some college credit but no degree, was highlighted in Forbes earlier this month.
“We know if we focused only on traditional students and did that perfectly—met the needs of every one of those students, recruited them and put them in the right degree path, and they were successful—we would still not meet the demands of the 21st century economy,” said UL System President and CEO Dr. Jim Henderson. “So for us to close those gaps, we had to address the needs of the large portion of our state’s population who started down the path but didn’t finish.”
The article highlighted the benefits of Compete LA’s new Academy feature allowing students to earn credit hours that transfer easily to the UL System institution of their choice. Click here to learn more about Compete LA Academy.
