Statement by University of Louisiana System President Randy Moffett on Governor Jindal’s Announcement to Study a Merger of UNO and SUNO and Shift to the UL System

“The University of Louisiana System will work closely with the Louisiana Board of Regents to explore the feasibility of a University of New Orleans and Southern University of New Orleans merger and possible shift of the merged institution to the UL System.    A discussion of this nature has numerous implications for multiple constituents and, therefore, should be thorough, thoughtful and focused on what is best for the future of education in our state.”
